Paris, Barraud, 1874. 2 vol. in-8, red morocco, ornate ribbed spines, triple gilt fillet framing the covers, filleted edges and headpieces, interior lace, gilt edges (Schneider). Meticulous reprint of the Fermiers généraux edition, with retouched and refurbished copperplates (three of which have been redone) and 17 new fleurons and culs-de-lampe, for a total of 2 portrait-frontispices (La Fontaine and Eisen), 83 out-of-text engravings by Charles Eisen and 74 headers, fleurons and culs-de-lampe. Edition of 1004 copies, this one of 100 on Chine, 3rd paper after 4 on peau de vélin and 100 on Whatmann. KF leather bookplate. A few small scattered brown spots, otherwise a very fine copy perfectly bound in morocco (Rochambeau, p. 550, no. 167).
