ILIAZD (Ilia Mikhaïlovitch Zdanevitch, dit) & HAUSMANN ( - Lot 114

ILIAZD (Ilia Mikhaïlovitch Zdanevitch, dit) & HAUSMANN (Raoul). Poèmes et bois. Paris, Le Degré Quarante et Un, 1961. In-folio, ff, parchment cover covered with butcher's paper, titled folder and publisher's slipcase. Original edition illustrated with 5 color woodcuts by Raoul Hausmann, preceded by a tribute by Ilazd to Hausmann. Copy no. 1 of a unique edition of 50 copies on old Japon paper, signed by Iliazd and the illustrator on the title. Hausmann's five poems in French are composed and spaced in such a way that the text follows the form and movement of the woodcut step by step. Iliazd has chosen a deliberately scorched parchment cover. Slight foxing on the endpapers, rare and minute spotting and small marginal stains, otherwise a very fine copy of this superb work.
