MARIE-MAD (Marie-Madeleine BOURDIN, known as). Titounet and Titounette, Christmas in Pluchon: original illustrations from the album. 1964–1968 [reprinted 2005]. 21 original plates (20 plates measuring 28 x 22 cm and 1 cover plate measuring 30 x 23 cm) in India ink, with their coloring tracings, in a cardboard folder with a handwritten title. Twenty plates created for the weekly magazine *Perlin et Pinpin* between 1964 and 1968 were later compiled for their reissue as a graphic novel by Éditions du Triomphe in 2005 under the title *Le Noël de Pluchon*. A collection of 10 stories, each 2 pp. (signed “Marie-Mad” on the second page): Titounet and Pluchon’s Nightmares / Titounet and Pluchon’s Gifts / Titounet and the Funny Photo / Titounet and Pluchon’s Christmas / Titounet and the Truffles / Titounet Goes to the Market / Titounet and Pluchonnette’s First Day of School / Titounet and the Green Plant / Titounet and the Little Pluchons / Titounet, Pouf, and Pluchon. According to an attached handwritten note, the illustrations for an 11th story—Titounet and the Pluchon Family—were donated to Mr. Goupil, a sculptor, for the Vernon Museum. Included are: the original signed cover illustration created for the album, along with its coloring tracing (this is a drawing partially redrawn from the cover of *Perlin et Pinpin* No. 52, 1962, and recolored anew) as well as the original, unused coloring tracing. Annotations in the margins and on the reverse, small stains in places, plates and tracing sheets assembled with adhesive tape; 3 plates consist of cut-out vignettes assembled with adhesive tape. Provenance: the artist’s studio.
